Introduction leather types

Nubuck

Nubuck is top-grain cattle leather and is almost similar to suede. The difference is that Nubuck leather is sanded on the outside, whereas suede is sanded on the inside. This results in the fact that Nubuck has more strenght and thickness along with a fine grain. Nubuck has a very soft touch and is lightweight. Be aware of possible scratches.

Suede

Suede is a type of leather with a napped finish, causing a velvet feel to the fabric. Suede leather is manifactured from the underside of animal skin, lamb and calf are commonly used. Suede is less durable than standard “full-grain” leather because this type does not include a tough exterior skin layer. It’s soft, thin and pliable. Be aware: suede can quickly absorb liquids and may become dirty.

Leather

Leather is a type of material that is sustainable and flexible. It’s made of the skin of animals, mostly cow. It’s a smooth material that looks chic and is comfortable to use. Be aware: 5 percent of the color can differ by using the product.  

Precaution

So you have just purchased your new Fab. item? Now it’s time to take care of it so you will be able to enjoy it for as long as possible. You have to spray it several times with a properly functioning spray. Therefore we recommend the Collonil Nanopro – innovative high-tech impregnation spray, develops from the Nano-technology. The spray is made for nubuck, suede and leather materials. To maintain the excellent quality of the materials it is recommended to spray once every three/four weeks. Prevent

Please keep products that can cause stains (such as oil, liquids and mud) away from the Fab items to protect them. As we frequently say in the Netherlands: prevention is better than cure.

Remove stains

To remove stains we recommend the following product: Collonil, classic – clean & care. This is caring cleaning foam that is extremely effective for nubuck materials.
